INDUSTRY BIOGRAPHY, ASSOCIATIONS AND BOARDS
Hans
continues to provide mentoring, leadership, and training in the fire alarm
industry.
Hans started
his electrical career in 1967 with the U. S. Navy as an aviation electronic
technician. Hans became an International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers
apprentice electrician in 1971 and a journeyman electrician in 1975. Hans
became an apprentice / journeyman instructor in 1994 and graduated from the
National Instructor Training Institute at the University of Tennessee in
Knoxville, Tennessee in 2000. Hans has served the International Municipal
Signal Association as a Midwestern Section Officer, International Fire Alarm
Specialty Chairman, as a member of the Board od Directors, President Elect,
President, and Past President.
Currently,
Hans serves on the National Fire Protection Association, Technical Committee on
Public Emergency Reporting Systems. Hans is on the IMSA Educational Foundational Board of Directors. Hans continues
to be an instructor in the Fire Alarm Industry in association with the
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, International Municipal Signal
Association, U.S. Department of Justice / Federal Bureau of Prisons, and the
U.S. Department of Energy.
Hans has
achieved the two highest nationally recognized fire alarm certifications.
Interior Fire Alarm level 2 from the International Municipal Signal Association
and from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies a
level 4 certification in Fire Protection Engineering Technology, Fire Alarm
Systems.
